This project is alterations and additions to an eighties beach cottage. A difficult sloping site, with the only space left to extend being on the south, required a clever solution to ensure plenty of natural light and cross ventilation.

This was achieved with a skillion roof and clerestorey windows over the new extension. Windows were positioned to maximise the prevailing north east sea breezes that are so necessary in maintaining a comfortable indoor climate through the long summers on the Midnorth Coast.

The site is in high bushfire risk area and colorbond cladding was chosen to finish the external walls.
